MonthIQ may collect information that you provide when you create or use a MonthIQ account, including:

• Email address used to create or sign in to your MonthIQ account.

• Recurring commitment information that you enter into the app, such as commitment names, amounts, payment schedules, durations, and related financial information.
• Other information you voluntarily provide when contacting us for support.

MonthIQ does not require you to connect a bank account, credit card, or other financial institution to use the app.

Purchase and subscription information

MonthIQ offers optional MonthIQ Plus subscriptions through Apple's In-App Purchase system.

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple. MonthIQ does not receive or store your credit card number, bank account details, or other payment credentials used to make an Apple purchase.

MonthIQ may receive information necessary to determine whether your subscription is active and to provide the features associated with MonthIQ Plus.

2. How We Use Information

We use information collected through MonthIQ to:

• Create and manage your MonthIQ account.
• Provide and maintain the app's features.
• Store and restore your commitments when cloud backup is enabled.
• Calculate and display monthly commitment totals and payment schedules.
• Provide the Before I Buy calculations.
• Determine access to MonthIQ Plus features.
• Restore subscription access when supported by Apple's App Store purchasing system.
• Respond to support requests.
• Maintain the security and reliability of the service.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your financial commitment information for targeted advertising or advertising tracking.

3. Local Storage and Cloud Backup

MonthIQ is designed with a local-first approach.

Your commitment information can be stored locally on your device so that the core app can function without requiring an account or continuous internet access.

If you create or sign in to a MonthIQ account and use the available cloud backup functionality, your account information and applicable commitment data may be transmitted to and stored using our cloud service provider, Supabase.

Cloud backup is intended to allow your MonthIQ data to be restored when you sign in on another device.

If cloud services are unavailable, MonthIQ is designed to continue using the information stored locally on your device where possible.

4. Third-Party Services

MonthIQ uses third-party services necessary to provide certain app functionality.

Supabase

MonthIQ uses Supabase for account authentication and optional cloud data storage and backup.

Information transmitted to Supabase may include your email address, account identifier, and applicable commitment information that you choose to back up.

Apple

MonthIQ uses Apple's App Store and In-App Purchase services for MonthIQ Plus subscriptions.

Apple processes subscription transactions through Apple's systems. MonthIQ does not receive your payment card or bank account credentials.

Apple may process information according to Apple's own privacy policies and terms.

5. Tracking and Advertising

MonthIQ does not use personal information for targeted advertising.

MonthIQ does not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

MonthIQ does not use your commitment information for advertising tracking.

6. Financial Information

MonthIQ allows you to enter financial commitment information such as recurring payment amounts, loan payments, installment amounts, subscriptions, memberships, rent, insurance, and other recurring commitments.

This information is used to provide MonthIQ's features, including monthly commitment calculations, payment timelines, and Before I Buy calculations.

MonthIQ does not connect directly to your bank account or financial institution and does not access your bank transactions.

You should only enter information into MonthIQ that you are comfortable storing in the app and, if enabled, backing up to the cloud.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures designed to protect information processed by MonthIQ from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account and cloud-backed information for as long as necessary to provide the applicable MonthIQ services, maintain the account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You may request deletion of your MonthIQ account and associated cloud-backed personal information by contacting us using the contact information below.

Information stored only locally on your device may remain on the device until you delete it through the app or remove the app/data from your device.

Subscription records processed by Apple may be subject to Apple's own retention practices and policies.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

• Request access to personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable legal requirements.
